Muzaffar Ali’s Jahan-e-Khusrau music festival spell bound Rajasthan’s Sufi lovers

New Delhi: The 4th edition of Jahan e Khusrau enthralled jam-packed Sufi lovers on Saturday night at Albert Hall. Organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan in association with Rumi Foundation, Muzaffar Ali’s Jahan e Khusrau celebrates spiritual awakening by recreating a legend of Rajasthan on stage.

The two-day event opened with a ‘Moomal: Rooh-e-Registan’, a musical ballet based on the well-known folklore of Rajasthan about the timeless beauty of Moomal. Featuring Shivani Varma as Moomal, Avenav Mukherjee as Rana and DastangoAskari Naqvi as the bard who narrates this tragic love story. Voices of MeetaPandit and Jassu Khan. This followed a performance titled ‘Naara-e-Mastana’ by Javed Ali, an Indian playback singer.

The festival will end with a dance ballet titled ‘HUMA’. It is a unique musical treat to the celestial bird, directed by Muzaffar Ali featuring ShinjiniKuljarni and group.

This was followed by a performance called ‘Nara-e-Mastana’ by Javed Ali, an Indian playback singer. The audience also applauded the songs ‘Koi KhushneGujara’, ‘AfreenAfreen’, ‘Khwaja Mere Khwaja’, ‘Ore Piya’ and ‘Padharo Mare Desh’ from Javed Ali’s AkhbarJotha.

Rajasthan Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation President DharmendraRathore, Chief Government Secretary Dr.GayatriRathore, Managing Director Vijay Pal Singh, Department Director Dr.Rashmi Sharma conducted the program. Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, Rajsico Chairman Rajeev Arora, and Industries Minister ShakuntalaRawat were also present.
