This is the story of Mayank Kumar who was in his second year of college when he lost his father in a car accident.

The sudden demise of his father left Mayank and his family in the lurch. He was sad, lost, and confused about what steps he should take next for the betterment of his family. Mayank was in a dilemma about whether to take care of his family or focus on his education and career. As the elder son, he decided to let education take a backseat and took responsibility for his mother and younger brother.

Fortunately, Mayank’s father had motor insurance, including a separate personal accident cover. Following the settlement of the claim, Mayank and his family received an amount of money which helped them financially in their most difficult and vulnerable time. The financial support which Mayank got strengthened his belief in the importance of insurance, and he started working on creating awareness on the benefits of insurance among his relatives and people in his neighborhood. Mayank has been working as an insurance agent since 2018. The insurance income has enabled Mayank to stabilize his family financially  Mayank was also able to complete his graduation.

The income enabled Mayank to re-establish his father’s jewellery business, which is now managed by his brother. Currently, Mayank is efficiently managing the responsibilities and catering well to his family.

In his words, Mayank said, “I come from a small locality in Delhi called Sangam Vihar. It was my father who introduced me to the world of insurance. After his sudden demise, my family went through many financial uncertainties. But, the insurance claims we received helped us sail through the rough times. I have managed to set up my father’s jewellery business and ensured my brother could complete his higher education. Today, when I sell a policy, my main focus is to provide the best plan with maximum benefit according to the customer’s needs. I make sure that the customer knows all the policy features so that they can avail of all the benefits at the time of any unfortunate event. My mission is to create awareness on insurance and its benefits among the common people.”
