Gurgaon, India, 27th December 2024: Amarjit Bakshi, Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of the Bakshi Group of Enterprises and a distinguished alumnus of the 1967 batch, has once again reaffirmed his commitment to his alma mater, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), by donating ₹1 crore to the institute’s Endowment Fund. This annual contribution is part of an ongoing pledge initiated by him in 2017, aimed at building a substantial endowment that will support groundbreaking research, enhance educational opportunities, and nurture future leaders.
Speaking about his contributions, Mr. Bakshi said, “IIT Delhi has been the foundation of my professional journey, and I am honoured to contribute to its growth. This endowment is dedicated to enhancing the institute’s ability to deliver world-class education, support pioneering research and nurture the leaders of tomorrow. My vision is for the institute to continue delivering transformative solutions for society and equipping future generations with exceptional opportunities for learning.”

At the occasion Mr. Bakshi also proposed a visionary Peer Teaching Initiative to IIT Delhi. This program will empower senior students to conduct interactive sessions on subjects they have mastered, sharing their knowledge and insights with junior students. By fostering a culture of mentorship and collaborative learning, this initiative aims to enhance the overall learning experience and prepare students for future leadership roles. This initiative aligns with Mr. Bakshi’s broader vision for IIT, which is to cultivate well-rounded individuals who can make a positive impact on society.
