Praising Hakka Garden’s Indo-Chinese, Ustad Ghulam Ali said, “We have loved the Indo-Chinese combination of Kolkata here in London. The food was perfectly synched like the rhythm to a song. It’s not every day that we get to taste this cuisine in London which makes it all the more special. Chef Steven Lee is an absolute genius when it comes to a sumptuous Indo-Chinese.”

Rakhi Sawant too mentioned, “The food here in Hakka Garden is something I find guilty pleasure in. Indo-Chinese is one of my favourite cuisines and Steven adds a bit of uniqueness to the food. It is not possible for me to be in London and not visit Hakka Garden at least once.”

Born and raised in the lanes of China Town of Kolkata, chef Steven Lee grew up with an inheritance of the Hakka Indo-Chinese cuisine that he further modified over the years. Keeping the multi-cultural diversity of the UK in mind, Lee has introduced Indo-Chinese dishes like Hakka Chicken, Crispy Okra Pepper Salt, Tai Pai Paneer, Soya Chilli Fish and a lot more at his new venture in London – ‘Hakka Garden’ at 248 Streatfield Road Harrow HA3 9BY.

Lee was born in Kolkata and grew up in Tangra, the Chinatown of East Kolkata that once housed tanneries and has now been converted to restaurants. Lee had introduced this ‘Tangra’ type Indo-Chinese cuisine at a Wimbledon-based restaurant named ‘Dalchini’ around 21 years back. He has won the National Award in the UK for his extraordinary culinary abilities. Lee has also been invited to showcase his Indo-Chinese delicacies in various popular UK cookery shows on Zee TV and Colors TV. Lee has also won various UK Food & Beverage awards like British Chinese Food Awards, Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards, Asian Curry Awards, Currylife awards to name a few.
