CSR Health Project of the Year award for Smile Foundation

New Delhi, May 10, 2025: Smile Foundation received the CSR Health Project of the Year Award during the 4th Bharat CSR & Sustainability Summit 2025 in New Delhi.

The recognition was based on the excellence achieved through Smile Foundation’s innovative healthcare initiatives across India. Smile Foundation has 115 healthcare projects operational across 83 Districts in 16 states, which include 25 aspirational districts. There are 110 Smile on Wheels (mobile medical units), 4 Static Clinics and a Smile on Boat (boat-clinic) functional at present. During the year 2024-25, as many as 1.76 million direct beneficiaries received healthcare services at their doorsteps.

Additionally, more than 200 specialised health camps and a hundred school health programmes were also organised during the period.

Strengthening and complementing governmental missions and efforts in delivering primary healthcare services are among the major goals behind Smile Foundation’s healthcare initiatives.

This award was meant to honour organization which was reimagining CSR and sustainability agenda with a transformative vision, focus on accountability and innovation; whether through impactful grassroots programmes, ESG integration, climate action, or tech-driven solutions. This was also to recognise innovative healthcare initiative that had impacted the upliftment of healthcare status in India, benefitting the community at large.

“This recognition is a great encouragement. This belongs to over 600 doctors, project managers, paramedics, medical technicians, counsellors, community mobilisers and mobile unit drivers spread across India. We also thank our numerous corporate supporters and donors for supporting our innovative healthcare initiatives in the most deserving and changeling locations. District Health Administrations and various other government agencies across India have also shown confidence in us and supported our efforts. I am glad that our collective effort has been showing results in the area of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being, as envisaged in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG–3),” said Mr. Santanu Mishra, Co-founder & Executive Trustee of Smile Foundation.

Smile Foundation’s healthcare projects are equipped with an Artificial Intelligence-based portable diagnostic kit, Electronic Health Records (EHR), maintaining a HIPAA-compliant patient data and history; GPS-tracking for real-time location and fleet monitoring, AngleCam application, and ReMeDi Telemedicine capable of more than 30 diagnostic tests (HB, RBS, UPT, MALARIA, WIDAL, ECG, BP, Fetal Doppler, etc.).

During the year, Smile Foundation conducted 30,867 OPDs, 1,87,743 diagnostic and point-of-care tests, besides delivering 17,55,862 curative services, and serving 1,45,551 preventive and promotive beneficiaries across India.

Smile Foundation is an Indian social development organization, directly benefitting over two million underprivileged children and their families every year through well-designed welfare projects in education, healthcare, nutrition, skilling and women empowerment spread across thousands of remote villages and urban clusters across 27 states.
