Holi, a traditional festival of the spring season, signifies the triumph of good over evil and is regarded as the time to celebrate with colour, music, dance and gaiety unleashed. Whether it is a song depicting a young couple in love, a bride, or the eternal love of Radha and Krishna, the musical repertoire associated with Holi captures the spirit of exhilaration in the heart.
This recital seeks to recreate the unbounded spirit of Holi that is inherent in the melody, rhythms and literature of myriad musical genres prevalent in North India. From classical and semi-classical to light music will depict the vibrant tones of the festival.
