Hotel Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport Unveils Flavours From The Hills

Kolkata, 14th July, 2025: Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport proudly presents its ongoing thematic food promotion, Flavours From The Hills — a rich celebration of the culinary heritage of the Eastern Himalayas. Launched on 11th July at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, Social Kitchen, the festival will be open to guests until 25th July 2025.A

The event was inaugurated in a warm and vibrant ceremony by the Honourable Consul General of Bhutan, Mr. Tashi Penjore, Mr. Sangay Thinley, Consul of Trade – Royal Bhutanese Consulate and Mr. Debashis Brahma, Principal Advisor, Dream Gateway Hotels by Jain Group.

Curated with cultural sensitivity and culinary authenticity, the menu brings together cherished regional dishes from Sikkim, North Bengal, Assam, Mizoram, and beyond. From classic Tse Momos and spicy Jhol Momo, to comforting bowls of Thukpa, hearty Jadoh rice, and the fragrant sweetness of Chak-Hao Kheer, the festival menu captures the diverse culinary soul of India’s highland regions.

Guests can enjoy a thoughtfully structured menu that explores multiple dimensions of mountain cuisine. Starters such as the Assorted Momo Platter, Sha Phaley, and Bamboo Shoot & Mushroom Wrap set the tone with rich textures and regional flair. Soups like Thukpa and the Ramen Bowl bring deep comfort, while the Shrimp & Broccoli Sweet Chilli Salad introduces a modern balance of flavour and crunch.

The main course is equally rich in diversity, featuring Smoked Chicken with Bamboo ShootBamboo Shoot Potato Curry and Moo Goo Gai Pan, all infused with traditional aromas and techniques. Signature accompaniments including Tingmo, Balep, Sanpiau and Jadoh honour the hills’ rice and bread culture. The sweet conclusion arrives with time-honoured favourites like Pitha, Koat and Chak-Hao Kheer, lending an authentic finale to the dining experience.
