Hyderabad, August 08th, 2025: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today inaugurated two-day “Digital Transformation (Dx) Finance Summit – 2025: Fortifying Finance – Forensics, Cybersecurity & Digital Trust,” in Hyderabad.

DxFS 2025 Summit is being organized by the Digital Accounting and Assurance Board of ICAI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and in association with the National Forensic Sciences University and Rashtriya Raksha University.

The 2-day event aims to bring together over 1500 Chartered Accountants, Regulators, Finance Leaders and Tech experts to deliberate on technological Compliance, data intelligence & governance, digital trust and trends in Forensics, Cybersecurity and data analytics, strengthening the forensic and financial ecosystem in India.

The event was inaugurated by CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI; CA. Prasanna Kumar D, Vice-President, ICAI; CA. Dayaniwas Sharma, Chairman, Digital Accounting and Assurance Board (DAAB) and CA. Arpit Jagdish Kabra, Vice-Chairman, DAAB, along with Central and Regional Council Members of ICAI.

Highlighting the institute’s growing focus on cyber resilience, CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI, said, “The Digital Transformation and Finance Summit 2025 reflects ICAI’s commitment to leading the profession into the future. ICAI was the first global accounting body to issue guidance on remote auditing as early as 2020. We also pioneered formulating 23 detailed Forensic Accounting and Investigation Standards, along with an implementation guide. To equip our members for the digital era, we are upgrading the DISA 3.0 course to DISA 4.0, offering hands-on experience to enhance members’ practical skills. Additionally, DAAB of ICAI is also introducing courses in Digital Forensics, DPDP and Cybersecurity Audit.”

He further added, “ICAI will soon release comprehensive Information Systems Audit Standards to strengthen the audit process within India’s digital ecosystem. These standards will empower our members to deliver world-class digital assurance. We are also actively collaborating with the Government to promote strong cyber hygiene practices across sectors.”

On this occasion, CA. Prasanna Kumar D, Vice-President, ICAI, said “Digital transformation is a never-ending process and ICAI is playing an active role in this journey to become a digital ICAI in the near future. In this age, cyber-crimes are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Additionally, a lot of personal information exists in the public domain, including our preferences, dislikes and behaviours, which contribute to our digital footprint. This is where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act is becoming very important. Bringing together industry- experts, regulators, and practitioners, this forum serves as an invaluable platform to deepen our understanding, share insights, and strengthen our collective response to the growing threats and vulnerabilities.”

To combat financial fraud, ICAI is also working on a research paper, “From Reaction to Resilience: A Preventive Approach to Capital Market Financial Fraud in India,” that will give actionable insights for auditors, regulators and market experts.

Earlier, ICAI has signed MoUs with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen the national ecosystem for forensic investigation and financial crime detection. Further, ICAI also provides specialized training to enforcement and regulatory bodies like CID, CBI, EOW, SFIO, and members of the judiciary, thereby enhancing the investigative capabilities and digital resilience. To date, ICAI has trained and certified over 14,000 forensic professionals, with more than 35,000 completing the Information Systems Audit (ISA) Course. Further, ICAI is soon coming out with DISA 4.0 up with the launch of DISA 4.0 and DISA+, upgraded courses on Information Systems Audit aligned with DPDP Act and cybersecurity best practices.

This Digital Transformation Finance Summit reflects ICAI’s collective commitment to building a secure, transparent and fraud-resilient financial ecosystem.
