IIP Celebrates First Graduates of Master of Science in Packaging Technology

IIP Hosts First Convocation of Master of Science in Packaging TechnologyHyderabad, December 16th, 2024: The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) Hyderabad, an autonomous body created under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India organised the First Convocation Ceremony of 1st & 2nd Batches of Master of Science in Packaging Technology in the city at Dr Marri Chenna Reddy HRD Institute at Jubilee Hills on Saturday.

Prof V. Balakrishna Reddy, in charge of the Vice Chancellor of JNTUH, was the Chief Guest and gave way Certificates. Mr. RK Mishra, IRS, Director of IIP Mumbai also graced.

Addressing the gathering Prof. Balakishta Reddy congratulated students for transitioning from learners to earners, students to employees. Five factors will influence you or any business. And those five are Globalisation, Liberalisation, Digitalisation, Privatisation and Covidisation.

He told students to innovate to help global society. Plenty of opportunities exist, but you must cater to those opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion Mr RK Mishra said being an educational capital and industrial city, Hyderabad needs IIP Institute. The packaging industry is growing double-digit. And it is going to grow. It is a golden era for packaging professionals now.

Keep pace with technology. It is not the enemy. When computers hit in 1980 similar scepticism exited that people would lose jobs. Instead, more jobs were created and efficiency improved. Similar to computers will happen to the packaging industry. Your skills and knowledge differentiate you from the rest of your peers. Also please be aware of the happenings around you. Our alumni are doing well. We also expect the same from you. It is a strong degree. Add on some specialised certificate courses so that you will grow fast.

Giving details about IIP he said a Packaging Lab is being set up in Mumbai and will be operational by 2026. A regional centre was recently opened in Lucknow.

You must not forget your mother and institution. Your mother has given you birth and your institutions has given you intellect Mr. RK Mishra concluded his talk with these remarks.

The Convocation certificates were presented to 30 students. Ms. Aparna of the first batch was the subject topper and was presented with a gold medal.
