Jyoti Mayal Leads THSC’s Mission to Skill India’s Hospitality Workforce on Global Stage

Jyoti Mayal Leads THSC’s Mission to Skill India’s Hospitality Workforce on Global StageOn International Hospitality Day 2025, the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) reiterated upon advancing India’s hospitality sector through robust skilling initiatives.

Under the visionary leadership of Mrs. Jyoti Mayal, the apex skilling organisation aligns with Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s Skill India Mission, aiming to equip the nation’s youth with evolving industry-relevant skills.

Over the past decade, THSC has trained nearly 1.5 million individuals (STT & RPL) helping them inculcate employment opportunities across the tourism and hospitality sectors. Collaborations with esteemed hospitality brands such as JW Marriott, The Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, IHCL, IHG, Radisson Group, Hilton Hotels and many more have been instrumental in this achievement, providing practical training and placement opportunities for trainees.

On completion of 10 years in 2024, THSC has set an ambitious target to train an additional 1 million youth over the next five years, focusing on inclusivity and regional representation. Initiatives like the ‘Empowering 150 Dreams’ project, which offered hospitality training to 150 women through THSC CSR from India’s northeastern states, has connected them with better employment opportunities with reputed hotel chains. Furthermore, in the current year, THSC has taken an additional target to train 300 women through their own funds to increase women workforce in the sector.

Its impact extends to the global stage, with Indian participants securing accolades at the WorldSkills Competition where we have won 11 Medals & Medallion of Excellence since 2017.

“Hospitality is all about creating experiences that resonate. At THSC, we believe in empowering individuals with the skills to craft these experiences. Our mission is to transform India’s vast talent pool into a skilled workforce that does both – meets domestic demands alongside setting global benchmarks. On this International Hospitality Day, we celebrate the spirit of learning and the endless possibilities it brings.”, said Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson of Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council.

As THSC continues to drive skill development, its efforts play a pivotal role in positioning India as a global leader in hospitality and tourism.
