KFC Unveils India’s Tallest Sand Bucket

Mar 23: Vizag’s RK Beach is synonymous with many things — crashing waves, morning walks, evening strolls and the occasional sandcastle. But this week, beachgoers were in for a surprise as a life-size KFC bucket emerged from the sand.

To mark the opening of its newest restaurant on Beach Road, KFC unveiled a sand sculpture inspired by its iconic bucket, transforming one of the city’s most popular public spaces into an unexpected brand moment.

Created entirely from beach sand by local sand artist Akunuru Balaji Varaprasad over 48 hours, the larger-than-life installation turned 7+ tonnes of sand into one of the world’s most recognizable brand symbols – drawing crowds of curious beachgoers & quickly becoming a viral photo backdrop along the shoreline.

The installation, which is India’s first sand sculpture KFC bucket, celebrates Vizag’s beach culture & marked the opening of KFC’s new Beach Road restaurant, located just across the road.

Inspired by its coastal surroundings, the 2280 sq. ft, 70-seater restaurant features boat-inspired interiors, a bamboo-clad façade and sea-facing seating, offering beachgoers a relaxed setting to unwind & enjoy finger lickin’ good food post their day at the beach.

With the towering bucket rising from the sand & the restaurant now serving KFC favourites across the road, KFC is all set to make waves in Vizag.
