Rajasthan Fast-Tracks INR1.37 Lakh Crore Tourism Investments; 1600plus Projects in Pipeline

Jaipur, August 08th 2025: Rajasthan is fast emerging as one of India’s most promising destinations for tourism investments. With over 1,600 MoUs signed worth ₹1.37 lakh crore, the state is actively converting intent into implementation through targeted facilitation, inter-departmental coordination, and investor engagement.

As part of this drive, a high-level dialogue titled “Rising Rajasthan Tourism Sector MoUs – Accelerating Ground-Breaking Investors’ Dialogue” was organised in Jaipur. The event brought together 79 MoU holders and key officials from the departments of Tourism, Urban Development, Revenue, and Local Self Government to address on-ground project bottlenecks.

From land conversion and building plan approvals to funding support and policy clarity, the focus was on resolving procedural hurdles and moving tourism projects toward execution. Officials from the Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd. (TFCI) were also present to guide investors on financing options for hospitality and tourism infrastructure.

Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Yadav, Principal Secretary – Tourism, Art & Culture, Archaeology and Chairperson, RTDC, highlighted the state’s commitment to grounding tourism projects with urgency and accountability. “Tourism is not just an economic sector; it’s the growth engine for Rajasthan’s employment and development,” he said, while outlining that the upcoming Rising Rajasthan Partnership Conclave (11–12 December 2025) will serve as a major showcase of the state’s tourism opportunities.

Yadav shared that implementation is being monitored through a multi-tier mechanism with the Chief Minister reviewing progress monthly, the Chief Secretary conducting fortnightly reviews, and weekly reviews led by the Principal Secretary and Commissioner, Tourism. Senior officials have been assigned districts for local-level follow-up.

He also noted that land policies and RTUP-2024 notifications are being finalised in consultation with Urban Development, Revenue, and LSG departments to streamline land-related processes.

Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar revealed that 29 MoU-backed projects are already operational, while 213 projects – worth ₹28,200 crore – have reached the ground-breaking stage, creating over 13,500 jobs.

The state’s tourism MoUs span hotels, heritage resorts, wellness retreats, eco-tourism initiatives, and experiential travel offerings.

To support these developments, district collectors have been instructed to conduct local MoU review meetings for faster resolution of issues and enable smoother project execution.

Pawan Kumar Jain, Additional Director, Tourism, showcased the key policy steps being taken to further improve the investment environment. These include:

  • Tourism Unit Policy 2024, which offers attractive incentives and approvals for tourism units.
  • Two upcoming policies:
  1. Rajasthan Film Tourism Promotion Policy, to position the state as a preferred film shooting destination.
  2. Integrated Tourism Policy, focusing on infrastructure, employment, and experience-led tourism.

Jain added that Rajasthan is already witnessing growing interest for destination weddings, international events, and film shoots, adding a fresh dimension to its tourism economy.

With this focused approach to policy reform, MoU facilitation, and project execution, Rajasthan is offering a replicable model for other states aiming to tap into the tourism economy.
