Based in the Netherlands, Piet is the founder of Ikigai Counseling, where he supports individuals on their journey to long-term sobriety and reintegration. His lived experience, combined with deep professional insight, has made him a trusted figure in the European recovery community.

Rooted in a shared vision of making world-class recovery accessible, dignified, and person-centred, this partnership creates a seamless bridge between outpatient therapy in Europe and residential care in India. Piet Broenland will actively support individuals seeking intensive treatment at Samarpan’s premium facility, helping ensure continuity of care from Ikigai’s outpatient services to Samarpan’s structured, holistic residential program.
Samarpan Recovery’s state-of-the-art centre in Mulshi, Pune, is the only facility in India- and only the second in Asia- to be accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). This accreditation reflects Samarpan’s adherence to the highest global standards in clinical governance, relapse prevention, and long-term care.
