Kolkata, May 2022: The commissioning ceremony of 29 nursing cadets of VIII batch (2017-2022), College of Nursing, Command Hospital (Eastern Command) Kolkata was held on 26 Apr 2022 at Yogendra Singh sports complex. It goes down in the history of College of Nursing, CH(EC) that for the first time passing out parade was held in the parade ground. The Nursing Cadets marched to the band played by the 4/9 Gorkha regiment. Maj Gen Anupam Chattoraj, MG Med (Eastern Command) was reviewing officer of the ceremony. The event was graced by Lt Gen Ajith Nilakantan, Commandant, Command hospital (EC), senior officers and proud parents. The newly commissioned MNS officers displayed allegiance to their profession by taking oath to serve the country and mankind delivered to them by Col R K Bhatti, Principal, College of Nursing. The chief guest urged the newly commissioned officers to keep abreast with latest developments in the medical field and to uphold the dignity and professional standards of Military Nursing Service in his address. The inception of the cash prize for excellence in academics was initiated with rupees fifty thousand sanctioned from Army Cdr’s fund. Rolling trophy, medals and cash prize was awarded to Lt Monika Chhetri for standing first in the final year WBUHS exam, best all-round student to Lt Ankita Singh and best clinical nurse to Lt Gopika M Nair. MSc Nursing Trainee officers Maj Thushara Thulaseedharan (First) and Maj Linchu P George (Second) were also awarded for meritorious performance in final WBUHS exams 2021.
