Dr Birbal Jha’s convo with the Patna audience on “Let’s value teachers’ voices and learn how to love learning” was held on October 5, 2024, World Teachers’ Day organised at British Lingua, an institute of international repute for English communication skills training for over three decades.
“A good teacher is expected to be knowledgeable about the subject, passionate about teaching, communicative in expression, creative in nature, enthusiastic in the classroom, adaptable to change, receptive to new ideas, empathetic to students, and have the patience to deal with students while imparting education.”, said noted author, thinker, and social entrepreneur Dr Birbal Jha speaking on the occasion.
“Just as water is essential for living beings, in the same way education is essential for mental growth and prosperity. Further, education is the key to unlocking the full potential of individuals. It opens doors to opportunities that might otherwise remain closed. So important is the job of teachers. Hence, their thoughts and ideas must be valued since they are agents of social change.”, added Dr Jha, recipient of Global Skills Trainer Award-2022.
Markedly, World Teachers’ Day is observed on October 5th each year, immediately following India’s Teacher’s Day on September 5th. WTD marks the signature of recommendations from the International Labour Organisation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNSECO).
