IIHM Student Nandini Nair Selected for Prestigious Scot Malt Tour 2025

Bangaluru, September 22, 2025: The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) proudly announces that Nandini Nair, a final-year Food and Beverage specialization student from IIHM Bangalore, has been selected to participate in the exclusive Scot Malt Tour 2025. This exciting, week-long educational journey immerses students into Scotland’s rich whisky heritage and culture, blending experiential learning with global hospitality expertise.

Nandini’s selection from over 150 applicants was the result of a rigorous multi-stage process including in-depth written rounds on spirits, wines and the whisky industry, culminating in a personal interview with Mr. Ron Scott, IIHM’s Scotland-based International Director. Reflecting on her achievement, Nandini shares, “Being selected for the Scot Malt Tour has been a dream since my first year. The support from my college mentors and director has been incredible and this opportunity will significantly shape my future in the beverage industry.”

As a BSc Honours student affiliated with the University of West London, Nandini has gained both practical and theoretical expertise in food and beverage management. She expresses excitement about immersing herself in the whisky making process, from the malting to the cooperage and exploring Scotland’s culture firsthand. “I am eager to witness where whisky is made and absorb the traditions and stories behind it,” she says, highlighting her passion for sommelier aspirations.

The Scot Malt Tour 2025, curated by Professor Ron Scott, offers unparalleled exposure to iconic distilleries such as Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, as well as innovative venues like Edinburgh Gin Distillery. This tour epitomizes IIHM’s philosophy of “High Tech, Higher Touch” learning by combining heritage, innovation and cultural storytelling to nurture the next generation of hospitality leaders.
