To create sustainable future and instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment KIIT World School has implemented Mega Plastic Collection Drive along with the Indian Centre for Plastics in the Environment (ICPE). The aim of the drive is to teach students how to reuse the waste material and to prepare products out of waste.
During the drive the students prepared visual aids like posters to put around the school campus, and also made different presentations. Students of classes from pre-nursery to 12, teachers, and community members collected plastic waste from their houses and nearby areas. The collected waste was handed over to ICPE’s recycling partners for safe disposal.
Neelima Kamrah Principal of KIIT World School said we are committed to promoting environmental sustainability and reducing plastic pollution. We believe that creating a plastic-free world is not a choice, but a commitment to the life and well-being of the next generation. Working together can create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for all.
We hope that the impact of the drive would help students teach the difference between waste and recyclables, diverting the waste and filling the landfills directly to the recyclers and authorized handlers.
