Manipal, October 7, 2025: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence “Deemed to be University”, through its constituent institute, the Manipal School of Commerce and Economics (MSCE), is set to host “Samudyamah” – an Industry-Academia Business Conclave on October 8 and 9, 2025, at the MSCE campus in Manipal. This flagship initiative addresses the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on businesses, workforces, and academic ecosystems, creating a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaborative action.
Themed “People, Businesses, and AI – Way Forward: Responsibility to Think and Grow Together,” the conclave is organized as part of MAHE’s Year of Excellence in Industry-Academia Collaboration, an initiative celebrating the institution’s commitment to fostering sustained partnerships that drive innovation, employability, and responsible growth.
The conclave recognizes that while Artificial Intelligence continues to reshape industries and societies at an extraordinary pace, a critical gap persists between industry expectations and academic outcomes. Businesses seek agile, future-ready talent, while academia remains the cradle of research and knowledge creation. Samudyamah aims to bridge this divide through dialogue, collaboration, and co-creation among key stakeholders, redefining the industry-academia interface through a shared responsibility model that ensures AI becomes a force for inclusive, ethical, and sustainable growth.
The initiative is structured around building a long-term framework for sustained engagement between academia and industry. With participation from leading corporates, the conclave will address the talent-application gap by strengthening opportunities for internships, industrial visits, and campus placements that enhance student employability and practical exposure. It will promote collaborative research and innovation through joint projects, live problem-solving initiatives, and incubation support for emerging entrepreneurs, with corporate representatives actively contributing to these efforts.
“As MAHE celebrates the Year of Industry-Academia Collaboration, this conclave reflects our commitment and stands as a platform to align academic excellence with industry needs, fostering innovation that bridges the talent gap in the era of artificial intelligence,” said Dr Sandeep Shenoy, I/C Director & Conclave Chairperson, Manipal School of Commerce & Economics, MAHE, Manipal.
The conclave will also enable faculty development and industry linkages, ensuring academic teaching and research align with the evolving realities of business and technology, guided by insights from attending industry leaders. Expected outcomes include strategic recommendations for strengthening India’s industry-academia partnership in AI adoption, frameworks for talent exchange, actionable plans for future-ready workforce development, and collaborative opportunities in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The initiative reinforces MAHE’s commitment to thought leadership and collaboration between academia and enterprise, ensuring that AI drives inclusive progress, ethical transformation, and shared prosperity in the years ahead.
