World Environment Day Celebration at RIA Sarjapur – 5th June 2025
World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ryan International Academy, Sarjapur on 5th June 2025. The event commenced with an inspiring message from the Principal, Ms. Sripurna Sarma, who spoke about the origin of this global observance in the year 1972 by the United Nations.
As part of the school’s mission to plant over 1,500 saplings, this day marked the launch of the green initiative. Students, teachers, and staff came together for a campus-wide plantation drive under the theme “Each One, Plant One”, bringing and planting saplings to contribute to a greener future.
In alignment with the 2025 World Environment Day theme — “#BeatPlasticPollution”, the school community pledged their commitment by writing down individual action steps to reduce plastic use and promote sustainability.
Several hands-on activities were organized to raise awareness about environmental conservation, including:
- Making paper bags as eco-friendly alternatives to plastic
- Dry leaf art and leaf painting, integrating creativity with ecological learning
These activities helped students understand that a sustainable environment equals a safer world. The celebration was not only educational but also fostered a deep sense of responsibility among the students and staff towards protecting our planet.
