Bangalore, March 2025 – Marking its 49th year, the Samanvay Arts Festival, presented by Sri Raja Rajeshwari KalaNiketan in association with the Academy of Music, continues its legacy as a prestigious celebration of Indian classical arts and culture. This year, the festival pays homage to the revered saint-poete Meera Bai, commemorating her 525th birth centenary with an extraordinary artistic presentation titled “Bhakti Shakti—The Power of Devotion.”
Curated by Dr. Veena Murthy Vijay, “Bhakti Shakti” is a mesmerizing confluence of dance, music, and storytelling. It captures Mirabai’s spiritual journey and unwavering devotion to Lord Krishna. This grand spectacle showcases Bhakti’s transformative essence through soul-stirring performances by some of India’s most esteemed classical dancers and musicians.
For the first time Kuchipudi tarangam technique is used for a Mira Bhajan and more than 25 dancers will be presenting tharangam the pot and the plate dance for Ameera bhajan this is the highlight of the Meera bhakti shakti bhale
As a special highlight, this year’s festival also features a tribute to the legendary dancer and choreographer Maya Rao, celebrating her immense contributions to the world of Indian classical dance and choreography.
