The 5th Edition of Innovative International Film Festival Honors 5 legends of Indian Cinema with Dada Saheb Phalke Awards

Bengaluru, 10th October 2021:The 5th Edition of Innovative International Film Festival, South India’s largest film festival came to a grand closure today in Bengaluru. The four-day film festival witnessed participation from 2000 plus delegates, including students and aspiring film talents. Presenting a wide spectrum of films, the festival brought to foray a fine selection of 150 movies from 40 Nations, 30 languages. Organized by Innovative Film Academy (IFA), the festival also had intriguing session helmed by industry veterans that offered a platform for aspiring talents to learn the nuances of the art. The award ceremony was presided over by Dr. L. Muruganji, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Dairy, Government of India.

The final day of the festival featured screenings at the Innovative Multiplex in Marathalli, Bengaluru, with dignitaries from Abu Dhabi, Israel, Canada, and France present. Mr. R.K. Selvamani, President of the Tamil Nadu Film Directors’ Association, and Mr. Saravana Prasad, Founder and Director of Innovative Film Academy, both gave opening remarks. During this occasion, renowned film director DirectorKarthikSubburaj offered their insightful knowledge about the filmmaking process. The event also witnessed a launch of Innovative Film Academy’s Istudio- their own virtual production set up.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Saravana Prasad, Founder and Director of Innovative Film Academy said, “Innovative Film Academy is thrilled and honored to host the Innovative International Film Festival for the fifth consecutive time. This was an opportunity for the Indian film industry to gain exposure to international markets, boost tourism, and discover artists from other countries. We intended to show the best of international cinema from diverse nations. Cinephiles had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we hope to actively assist aspiring filmmakers to learn the subtleties of filmmaking.”

The finale day also witnessed the annual award function that recognized stellar performances and outstanding films from across languages.  The award property is jointly organized by IFA and Dada Saheb Phalke MSK Trust. The award winners for the year 2022 under various categories are:

The festival also witnessed power-packed panel discussion bringing together industry leaders from across languages and countries. Discussing a range of topics, the session brought to light interesting perceptive on film making and the art of storytelling in an evolved, technology centered era.

NFDC has recognised and accepted the Innovative Academy as its affiliated Training partner. Innovative Film Academy is becoming an extension arm of National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) for Training related to Film Development in multiple levels and avenues. This partnership is envisaged to bring more professional approach by imparting necessary skills and knowledge for film development in the youth of the nation. It will also address the need for upskilling and reskilling of existing professionals in the film industry.
