Mumbai, June 14, 2025: Mumbai, the country’s financial capital, witnesses huge success as the first-ever Bihari Swabhiman Sammelan 2025 concludes at Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium at Dahisar. The event was organized by Shubhsita Foundation, a non-profit social development organization, to give a national platform to the identity, pride, and unity of Bihar and its people.

The event marked the largest and most influential gathering, giving a platform to connect with migrant Biharis from their home states and celebrating the pride and dignity of Bihar. The panel speakers included a distinguished lineup of individuals from various fields. Among them was Padma Bhushan Shri. Udit Narayan Jha, Shri. Sanjay Nirupam, Acharya Shri. Pawan Tripathi, Shri. Aslam Hassan, Shri. Abhay Sinha, Mrs. Ritu Jaiswal, Shri. Manoj Bharti, Shri. Satish Kumar Singh, Shri. Pravin Chandra Jha, Shri. Ram Bandhu Vats, Smt. Shweta Shalini, Mrs. Kalpana Patowary, Shri. Captain Nikunj Parashar, Shri. Rakesh Jha and Shri. Niraj Kumar Mishra, to name a few.

The day kicked off with a traditional Bihari breakfast of Litti Chokha and Chai, setting a warm and welcoming tone for guest arrivals and registration. The event then transitioned into insightful discussions, with the first panel delving into “Literature, Cinema, and Culture,” exploring the Bihari narrative from Maithili to modern times with poets, cultural historians, actors, filmmakers, and critics. This was followed by a vibrant “Cultural Infusion” featuring Bihari folk music. The afternoon continued with a second panel discussion on “Politics & Governance,” examining “Bihar at the Crossroads, Vision 2035” with political leaders and policy experts. The final panel discussion focused on “Enterprise & Innovation,” highlighting “New Age Bihari Entrepreneurs” with business leaders and startup founders.

Manorama Jha, Founder of Shubhsita Foundation, stated, “This conference was indeed a historic opportunity to unite the Bihari community and collectively reflect on the future of our state. Bihar has given the country IAS-IPS officers, scientists, doctors, leaders, and artists. Today, we saw a new consciousness ignited, a true people’s movement for the self-respect of Biharis.”

Sanjay Nirupam, Political Leader and former Member of Parliament, said, “We leave our cultural print everywhere we go. No matter how far we go, we carry our Bihari roots home. Today, as a Bihari who has made Mumbai as home, I am immensely proud to witness this historic ‘Bihari Swabhiman Sammelan.’ Thanks to Manorama ji, for organising this event and bringing together our community’s resilience, talent, and unwavering spirit.”

Padma Bhushan awardee and Bollywood Singer Udit Narayan Jha, expressed, “For decades, my voice has resonated across the nation, but my heart has always beaten for Bihar. To see so many Biharis gathered here, celebrating our rich heritage and looking forward with hope, fills me with immense joy. It was not just an event; it’s a symphony of unity, reminding us that no matter where we go, our roots remain our strength.”

The event was more than a conference, a first-of-its-kind platform where Biharis from all age groups, backgrounds, and cities came together with a sole purpose of being Bihar-centric and celebrating the fierce pride of being a Bihari.
