HDFC Bank Parivartan Boosts Education: Infrastructure Improvement in Two Telangana Government Schools

Hyderabad, Dec 5: HDFC Bank, under its CSR umbrella brand Parivartan, today announced the foundation stone laying ceremony for the renovation of two government schools in Adilabad District, Telangana. The Bank is supporting a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade at Government High School No. 1, Vidyanagar, Adilabad, and Government High School, Mahalaxmiwada, Adilabad. The work will include improvements to classrooms, IT facilities, laboratories, playgrounds, sanitation units and drinking water systems.

 

The announcement was made during the visit of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Anumula Revanth Reddy, to Adilabad today. Key dignitaries present included Shri Jupally Krishnarao, District In-charge Minister, Shri Payal Shankar, MLA Adilabad, and Shri Rajarshi Shah, IAS, District Collector and Magistrate. Senior Bank officials including Mr Venkatesh Challawar, Executive Vice President and Regional Head, HDFC Bank Ltd, and Mr Karunakar Reddy, Zonal Head, HDFC Bank Ltd, attended the ceremony.

 

HDFC Bank, along with its implementation partner Learning Links Foundation, conducted a detailed assessment of the two schools to identify infrastructure gaps. As part of its role, the Bank will fund and oversee the renovation and ensure quality execution in partnership with the Learning Links Foundation. More than 850 current students, and many more in the years ahead, will benefit from safer, more effective learning environments that support both academic and co-curricular development.

 

Speaking about the development, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Branch Banking Head, Telangana, HDFC Bank, said;

This intervention aligns with the Bank’s six core CSR focus areas. The schools fall under the Promotion of Education focus area of Parivartan, which strengthens quality of education through scholarships, school infrastructure and digital learning. Under this focus area, the Bank has disbursed more than 29,000 scholarships, established over 2,600 SMART schools and set up more than 930 community libraries to date. The other five CSR pillars include Rural Development, Skill Training and Livelihood Enhancement, Healthcare and Hygiene, Financial Literacy and Inclusion, and Natural Resource Management.
