JrnyOn Collaborates with Chef Johnson Ebenezer to Explore Culinary Cultures of South and Southeast Asia

JrnyOn partners with Chef Johnson Ebenezer, Chef Patron and Co-Founder of Farmlore, to launch immersive culinary trips to Tamil Nadu, Vietnam and Sri Lanka
Bengaluru, June 19th, 2025: Online travel marketplace JrnyOn, which is transforming content creators’ expertise into bookable travel experiences, has announced a collaboration with celebrated Chef Johnson Ebenezer, aka Chef JE. Together, they have launched three immersive, creator-led culinary journeys to Tamil Nadu, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka.

Chef JE, formerly executive chef at Malaysia’s Michelin-starred Nadodi, is the creative force behind Farmlore, Bangalore’s award-winning farm-to-table restaurant. Awarded NDTV Foods Best Earth Friendly Restaurant and winner of the American Express One to Watch Award as part of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025, Farmlore operates as both working farm and theatrical dining space, with Chef Ebenezer and his team crafting cuisine-agnostic tasting menus that celebrate the forgotten flavours and techniques of Southern India. With over two decades of experience spanning luxury hotels, Michelin-starred kitchens, and indigenous food documentation, he is renowned for bringing hyperlocal traditions to the global table through sustainable gastronomy that revives lost recipes and reinterprets age-old techniques for modern diners.

Speaking on the partnership, Sanjith Mukund, Co-Founder of JrnyOn, said: “Chef Johnson brings an extraordinary depth of culinary storytelling to our platform—his ability to weave together hyperlocal traditions, sustainable practices, and cultural memory through food perfectly embodies what JrnyOn stands for. Through partnerships like this, we’re not just creating travel experiences; we’re facilitating profound cultural exchanges where travellers don’t simply taste a cuisine, but understand its soul, its history, and its connection to the land and people who’ve nurtured it for generations.”

Chef Johnson Ebenezer added, “These culinary journeys represent everything I’m passionate about—the intersection of food, culture, and storytelling. Travellers can expect to go far beyond restaurant dining; they’ll find themselves grinding spices with Tamil grandmothers, learning fermentation secrets in Vietnamese village kitchens, and understanding how a single Sri Lankan curry carries centuries of trade route influences. Each experience is designed to awaken not just the palate, but also a deeper appreciation for how food connects us to place, tradition, and each other—creating memories that will forever change how they approach cooking and eating.”

The first of these trips, Chef JE’s Tamil Nadu: Culinary Secrets, will take place from August 30 to September 3, 2025. This five-day culinary exploration dives deep into the vibrant food heritage of Tamil Nadu, where travellers will explore Madurai on a culinary walking tour; discover vibrant food spots in Trichy; sample local breakfasts, savour home-style lunches, and participate in hands-on cooking experiences in Kumbakonam; taste Thanjavur’s rich regional flavours and delve into local culinary traditions; as well as learn traditional cooking techniques during a live demonstration and feast on classic Chettinad cuisine.

Following this, the trip to Vietnam will unfold from October 3 to 10, 2025, offering an eight-day deep dive into one of Southeast Asia’s most flavourful cuisines. Traversing regions from Hanoi to the Mekong Delta and the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An, the journey uncovers the intricate balance of texture, aroma, and ancestral wisdom that defines Vietnamese cooking. Travellers will forage in traditional markets, cook with grandmothers in rural kitchens, explore fermentation techniques, and experience a cuisine where every dish tells a story — all curated through Chef Johnson Ebenezer’s lens of cultural empathy and culinary detail.

Rounding out this trilogy of taste is the journey to Sri Lanka, scheduled for January 9 to 15, 2026. During this seven-day journey, participants will experience the various layers of Sri Lankan cuisine — from seafood feasts and hopper nights to spice grinding workshops, toddy trails, and spiritual food rituals. They will also visit the lively fish market in Negombo, climb Dambulla’s Sigiriya Rock, explore Polonnaruwa, and go on a safari in Minneriya National Park.

These trips reflect JrnyOn’s vision of creator-led, story-rich travel. The platform, launched in January 2024, is redefining multi-day group travel by partnering with content creators and domain experts to design experiences that go far beyond sightseeing. JrnyOn handles all logistics, while enabling each creator’s unique voice to shape unforgettable itineraries. In the past year, JrnyOn has launched journeys with creators like Ankita Kumar (Monkey Inc.), mountaineer Phunjo Lama, Chef Sapna Anand, and spiritual leader Vinita Rashinkar, spanning destinations from Finland to Tanzania, Ladakh to Turkmenistan. With Chef Johnson now joining this community of maestros, JrnyOn deepens its commitment to travel that nourishes the mind, palate, and soul.
