Gorakhpur, 9th April 2025: In a significant leap for Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and agricultural development, Keyaan Distilleries Pvt Ltd inaugurated its state-of-the-art 300 KLPD grain- based distillery, scalable up to 500 KLPD, in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji.
The distillery has been designed, engineered, and commissioned by Praj Industries Ltd, India’s leading industrial biotechnology company. Built across 30 acres, the facility uses broken rice and corn as feedstock to produce fuel ethanol and rectified spirit for medicinal use. The plant is expected to generate over 1,200 direct and indirect jobs, create reliable demand for local grains, and contribute significantly to the region’s clean energy and rural economy.
During the inaugural ceremony, CM Yogi Adityanath lauded the project for: “Promoting energy security, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to foreign exchange savings through import substitution. This project sets the stage for advanced green fuels like Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and is a perfect example of industry and agriculture coming together for the state’s progress. Such initiatives support our vision of a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh and Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
