Kolkata, April 2023: JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani successfully hosted its annual cultural fest, MaJIStic’2K23, on April 6th, 2023, at the JIS College of Engineering campus. The event showcased the talents of the students in various art forms and cultural activities. The Principal of the college, Dr. Patha Sarkar, inaugurated the program with a welcome speech, and the Convenor, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, and other dignitaries motivated the students to participate and showcase their skills.
The main purpose of MaJIStic’2K23 was to highlight and encourage the students’ abilities in the different fields of art, culture, and entertainment. The event began with an intriguing dance performance, and it was fascinating to see the performers at their best. The dancers’ enthusiasm and flawless coordination captivated the crowd’s attention. The singers, too, were not left behind to exhibit their skills and charmed the audience with their live performances. Both of these stunning programmes left the audience absolutely mesmerised. Another major attraction of the event was the fashion show, which portrayed the participants’ innovation and fashion sense, spanning from traditional to contemporary. The most anticipated event of the festival took place in the evening when the band “Somlata and the Aces” performed on stage. The band entertained the gathering with a variety of tunes, including modern Bengali music and traditional Bengali rock. The band’s interaction with the crowd made the concert more entertaining and eventful. The students grooved along with the band and enjoyed the evening to its fullest. All the participants, audience members, and volunteers successfully established the mood of the event with their boundless energy and enthusiasm.
