13 November 2024: MediBuddy, India’s largest digital healthcare platform, has launched the second edition of its flagship initiative, the MediBuddy Wellness League (MWL). The league, which commenced on September 16, 2024, has already attracted over 25,000+ registrations and features an expanded prize pool of up to ₹1.5 crore, marking a significant scaling up from last year’s initiative. The prize pool is sponsored by some of the leading brands such as Seiko, FitBit and Sennheiser. Leading brands such as Growfitter, Kojo, Clovia, True Elements, Philips, GNC, Zepto, Slice, Upgrad and Easemytrip have joined forces to make this edition even more exciting.
Building upon the success of its inaugural year, the MWL reaffirms MediBuddy’s commitment to fostering a culture of proactive health management in the corporate sector. Maintaining its innovative structure, the MWL categorises participation with corporate entities functioning as ‘teams’, Human Resources departments assuming the role of ‘coaches’, and individual employees participating as ‘players’.
Over the course of two months, the league will employ a sophisticated point-based gamification framework, wherein participants accrue points through various health-oriented activities. To ensure equitable evaluation, rankings will be determined based on the percentage of active participants, irrespective of organisational scale. Upon conclusion, the activity will recognise excellence with awards for Corporate Wellness Champion, Outstanding Wellness Leadership in Human Resources, and Individual Wellness Achiever.
Mr. Saibal Biswas, SVP & Head of Marketing, Partnerships and PR at MediBuddy, said, “The inaugural MediBuddy Wellness League surpassed our expectations, underscoring the corporate sector’s appetite for innovative health initiatives. This year’s two-month competition is purposefully structured to foster lasting health habits, grounded in research showing that it takes 30 to 45 days to create meaningful behavioural change. Through MWL, we are gamifying wellness to incentivize positive actions in an engaging and enjoyable way, while also addressing a key HR challenge—enhancing employee engagement. With this initiative, we’re helping organisations prioritise preventive healthcare, instil a culture of wellness, and drive a greater impact on workplace well-being.”
Through the introduction of gamification, MediBuddy has created an interactive platform that drives active participation and enthusiasm. The competitive element of the MWL continues to motivate organisations and individuals to strive for excellence with participants. The league will also provide participating companies with personalised health reports for their employees, derived from individual input, which will assist in identifying potential health concerns and addressing them proactively.
This year, MediBuddy is enhancing its offering by providing even more comprehensive health analytics, allowing organisations to track year-over-year improvements and refine their wellness strategies with greater precision. The BMI Tracker is a key component, allowing employees to enter their height and weight, after which the system calculates their Body Mass Index (BMI) and this feature helps participants monitor their health progress over time and provides valuable insights into overall wellness.
As MediBuddy continues to lead the charge in digital health innovation, the second edition of the MWL stands as a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to revolutionising workplace wellness and preventive healthcare in India.
Access to the league remains exclusively through the MediBuddy mobile application, with registration now open for both returning and new corporate participants.
