Hyderabad, Sep 11: Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & Hyderabad International Convention Centre has announced the elevation of Shyama Maity to Director of Rooms, recognising her contribution to the property since joining the hotel in 2024 and her strong track record in driving guest experience, operational excellence and Rooms Division performance.
Shyama brings close to 20 years of international hospitality experience spanning Rooms Division operations, Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Concierge and Reservations. During her tenure at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & HICC, she progressed from Rooms Division Manager to Director of Rooms, taking on increasing responsibility for one of the hotel’s most critical operational functions.
In her new role, Shyama will lead the hotel’s Rooms Division, overseeing Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Concierge and Reservations across the property’s 287 rooms. Her mandate will encompass guest experience, service delivery, Rooms revenue, occupancy, ADR and RevPAR, alongside quality, brand and sustainability standards. She will also continue to play a key role in people development, operational planning and delivering seamless experiences for large-scale MICE movements, corporate groups and high-profile stays.
Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre is also a destination for weddings and social celebrations. Its event offering brings together accommodation, dining, banqueting and recreation, making the Rooms Division an important part of the overall event experience, from welcoming wedding guests and families to managing group arrivals and ensuring seamless stays for MICE delegates.
With the property balancing high-volume conventions and corporate movements with weddings, social celebrations and leisure stays, the Rooms Division plays a pivotal role in connecting every part of the guest journey. From pre-arrival planning and room readiness to personalised service, guest recovery and departure, the team ensures that the experience remains consistent across every segment.

Shyama’s career includes senior Rooms and Front Office leadership roles across India and New Zealand. Prior to returning to India, she served as Rooms Division Manager at Rydges Latimer Christchurch and held Front Office leadership positions at The George Christchurch. Earlier in her career, she worked with Hyatt Ahmedabad, Grand Hyatt Goa and Hyatt Regency Kolkata, including as part of the pre-opening team at Grand Hyatt Goa.
