New Delhi, May 3rd, 2023: Protean eGov Technologies Limited (formerly NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited) a pioneer and market leader in universal, citizen-centric, and population-scale e-governance solutions, and PayWorld have announced a partnership to offer quick and hassle-free PAN-related services to PayWorld’s retail partners through Aadhaar and biometric or SMS-based OTP authentication for their customers.
The partnership will help improve service delivery for millions of citizens as they enter the formal financial sector. It will facilitate quick and easy access to online PAN services in neighborhood stores, thus eliminating the submission of physical applications and supporting documents. Once the online application form is submitted, a digital copy of the ePAN will be generated within few hours while a physical copy will be subsequently delivered to the customers at their chosen address within a reasonable time.
Talking about the recent partnership, Mr. Amit Tyagi, CEO PayWorld said, “We are excited to be working with Protean for their PAN card services. Over the years, we have been working relentlessly toward financial inclusion and wellness for all the citizens of India. With this alliance, we look to offer the citizens of the country the availability of PAN card services at their neighbourhood stores.”
Mr. Gopa Kumar T.N., Chief Business Officer, Protean, said, “We are delighted to partner with PayWorld to contribute to a financial ecosystem that offers socio-economic benefits to society. Over the past 25 years, we have laid the foundation for India’s digital infrastructure. We are proud to contribute to India’s digital economy and it makes us remain committed to our mission of bringing all citizens into the formal financial system.”
Protean, which accepts and processes PAN applications on behalf of the Income Tax Department, Government of India, has played a pioneering role in laying down the basic e-governance infrastructure of the nation. In keeping with the huge and diverse demographic needs of our country, the company has enabled a “Phygital” (Physical+Digital) model for enabling last-mile reach.
The new PAN services will be available across PayWorld’s extensive network of retailers, making it easily accessible to people who are residing in the most remote areas. A PAN card has become an essential document for every individual to access financial services in today’s digital age.
