New Delhi, November 17, 2022: As a part of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Nationwide Intensive Awareness Campaign, Bajaj Finance Limited (BFL), India’s largest and highly diversified NBFC and the lending arm of Bajaj Finserv Limited, is organizing a series of public awareness and outreach programmes across Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab, whole of this month. The awareness sessions will be conducted in different schools and colleges, manufacturing plants and auto union premises.
The first of these workshops was conducted on 15th November 2022 at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sonipat, Haryana. The program had a special session by Mr. Jagdish Chander, Retired DSP Haryana Police, who highlighted the modus operandi of financial frauds and how one could stay safe against cyber-crimes. The workshop had other senior officials from Bajaj Finance Limited to showcase safe banking practices and easy tips to stay a step ahead of cyber criminals. More than 75 students of 11th and 12th standards of the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sonipat participated at the event along with their Principal, teachers and other staff members.
The Reserve Bank of India has been taking various initiatives towards improving customer awareness levels on extant regulations to protect consumer interests, alternative grievance redress mechanisms, safe banking practices, etc. In order to amplify it further, the RBI launched the Nationwide Intensive Awareness Campaign from Nov 1st to Nov 30th 2022, in collaboration with other Banks and NBFCs, to leverage their reach and touchpoints for spreading awareness in the hitherto, unreached, and isolated segments of the population and regions, including the farthest and remotest locations of the country.
As a part of the month-long awareness programme, Bajaj Finance will be organising several workshops to help spread awareness amongst a targeted mix of public including auto union members, manufacturing plant workers, students, teachers and staffs of various schools and colleges. Bajaj Finance has been driving awareness campaigns, through its digital and social media platforms, branch networks and other infotainment media to reach the last mile consumers and help them understand better financial products and services and not be exposed to any kind of vulnerabilities, online or offline. Its ‘Savdhaan Rahein. Safe Rahein.’ campaign was launched as a proactive and preventive awareness initiative to help consumers stay safe against online financial frauds.
Its financial education campaign, ‘Har Time EMI On Time’, helps spread awareness, understanding and adoption of good borrower habits amongst its consumers and the public while helping them understand the benefits of timely loan repayments, basics of EMI and ways of maintaining a healthy financial future.
