Rajasthan Tourism returns to World Travel Market (WTM)post-Covid

New Delhi. Rajasthan Tourism is returning to World Travel Market (WTM) post-Covid, this year it is being held at ExCeL London from November 7 to November 9. The WTM is the leading international travel event. With the principles and ethos of ‘AtithiDevoBhava’, Rajasthan Tourism returns with a warm and open arm for tourists to come and explore the colourful desert state of Rajasthan.

Promoting responsible and eco-friendly tourism is what Tourism Department aims at, said the Director of Tourism, Dr.Rashmi Sharma, “With a vision of placing Rajasthan Tourism at the top of the world tourism map, we are looking forward to connecting with travel enthusiasts. UK has a huge population of the Indian diaspora, WTM can be a great platform to reach out to them as well as to foreign tourists who want to explore the rich culture, and heritage of Rajasthan.”
Embracing responsible tourism as a mission, she said this year Rajasthan Tourism Department aims to reduce the environmental impact of tourism and promote sustainability. She also noted that gastronomy continues to put Rajasthan on the map, so this year there is a focus on exceptional authentic experiences.

Talking about the triumphant return of WTM post-Covid, Sharma said they are attending the event with a hope that tourists who respect and understand the value of heritage would this year come in leap and bound. The state government aims to boost the influx of tourists that would have a contribution to socio-economic development. She elaborated that Rajasthan is blessed with rich culture and heritage, and great diversity, there is unmatched tourism potential, this year Tourism Department is focusing on unexplored, hidden gems both places and wildlife havens in Rajasthan.

“Every year we connect with people from diverse walks of life who share the love for Rajasthan, this year too I am hoping to connect with many more and expand collaboration activities,” she noted.
