New Delhi, 09th September 2024: Satyukt Analytics, a Bangalore-based agritech company driving a transformation in farming across the globe, recently shared groundbreaking insights at the Global Fintech Fest 2024, which happened in Mumbai. Dr. Sat Kumar Tomer, Founder and CEO of Satyukt Analytics, participated in a panel discussion focused on “Smart farming- Emerging trends and opportunities for Agritech startups”.
Satyukt thanks NABVENTURES for the opportunity to connect and collaborate at the Global Fintech Fest 2024.
During the event, Dr. Tomer highlighted how Satyukt Analytics is leveraging technology to increase crop yields while reducing input costs—an approach that is especially impactful for the farmers. With the challenges of reaching 14 crore farmers in India and around 30 crore small and marginal farmers in other developing countries, Dr. Tomer emphasized the need for scalable, affordable alternatives to traditional farming methods.
Key to this approach is satellite remote sensing, which offers solutions for soil nutrient management, pest and disease control, and irrigation optimization without the need for costly on-farm hardware. This technology is particularly beneficial for the small and marginal farmers who struggle with limited access to advanced farming tools.
Dr. Tomer also shared his vision for the future, noting that advancements in satellite remote sensing technology—driven by improvements in smartphone penetration, internet access, processing power, and satellite data availability—are paving the way for a new era in agriculture. He envisions these technologies continuing to evolve, empowering stakeholders in the agricultural value chain, from farmers to government agencies, to make informed decisions that drive sustainable growth.
