The Sexual Harassment of the Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 mandates organizations with 10 or more employees to form a POSH Policy. If the organization fails to comply then the employer is liable for a penalty of Rs 50,000. COVID-19 has changed the working mode of employees where organizations work in a remote work environment. To understand how the POSH act can be applied in a hybrid work setting, Arthan is organizing a Virtual Masterclass titled ‘Ways to Become POSH Compliant in a Hybrid Mode of Working’.
The speaker for the session will be Prerna G. Chatterjee, POSH Consultant and Advisor and Vice President, Maharashtra ASH Council, Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Chatterjee has been working as a POSH Consultant and Advisor since 2015. Her client portfolio includes organizations from the development sector and law firms. She works with them in strengthening their existing POSH policy ensuring that it complies with the POSH act. Along with setting up internal committees, she also conducts training for the members and employees to create awareness about the act. After the pandemic, she particularly focuses on curating the POSH policy to comply with the remote working environment.
The aim to organize this virtual masterclass is to sensitize the employer and employees about sexual harassment in the workplace, create awareness about the POSH act and understand the importance of the POSH act in a hybrid working environment. This Virtual Masterclass will give a broad overview of the provisions of the POSH act and help an employer handle the complaint process sensitively. It will also dwell on what constitutes sexual harassment in a hybrid work setting and how organizations can ensure a safe, equitable, and inclusive workplace for all employees.
