Bengaluru May 2022: Karnataka State Arm Wrestling Association under the affiliation of BCAI (Board Control Of Am Wrestling Federation of India) and IFA (International Federation of Arm Wrestling) conducted its 1st State National at The Pride Hotel. Richmond Road, Bengaluru. The competition had 65 Registration of Athlete including Three Women Athlete from Bangalore, Hassan, Mysore, Davangere, Mandaya, Tumkur. The Event had 8 Weight Categories with the Champion of Champions Title match. The Men’s Champion was Puneet M from Mysore and the Women Category was won by Nayana E from Hassan. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr MN Natraj State Director of Youth Empowerment and sports ministry of Government of India. He spoke about the Govt sport of all kinds of Indigenous sports in every district of Karnataka. He assured help and assistance to all the athletes for the future of Arm Wrestling in Karnataka. The event also was graced by the presence of the President of BCAI Mr Ronnie Sehegal. The Hotel General Manager Mr Rakesh also offered complete sport by providing the venue and refreshment to all the athletes. The Acting President and General Secretary of KSAA Mr Ujjwal Mukhia spoke about the importance of associations and collaborations to make the future best world athlete Arm Wrestlers from Karnataka. This is a country Legacy sport that needs proper support and mentorship. The winners of the tournament around 30 of them will represent Karnataka in the upcoming 2nd Country Nationals in Goa on 18, 19, 20th May 2022. The event was supported and managed by O3 Events.
