The summit aimed to unite industry experts, thought leaders, and stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for the future of the retail industry, specifically tailored for students.
During the Inaugural Session the Chief Guest, Mr. Anupam Bansal, Director – Retailing and Marketing, Liberty Shoes Ltd and Co-Chair, Retail, E-commerce, and Consumer Affairs Committee, PHDCCI delved into the all-encompassing essence of retail, addressing e-commerce, sustainability, and the influence of digital technologies. He elucidated that retail goes beyond mere customer experiences; it involves merging multiple aspects such as product development, manufacturing, and marketing. This fusion serves as the juncture where consumers connect with a brand, underscoring its crucial role for businesses.
Dr. Pooja Jain, Director of JIMS, emphasized that the retail sector offers a wide range of career possibilities across Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Analytics. The industry’s stable growth creates vital business prospects. JIMS is committed to providing quality education while actively engaging with the industry. The seminar underscores the significance of learning and growth by focusing on the future scope within the retail landscape.
Dr. Harshvardhan Halve, Director General of JIMS, conveyed that the retail future appears highly captivating and rife with challenges, especially in the context of concepts like the metaverse, AI, and emerging technologies that are bolstering the retail industry.
