To kickstart this partnership, WinZO will host ‘Open House’ investment and mentorship sessions from November 2nd to 4th, at the International Game Developers Conference (IGDC), during which participants from these colleges will have open access to pitch their ideas and secure funding. The partnership will also help students hone their entrepreneurship skills and expand their knowledge on how to build a large, scalable global gaming company from India for the world through mentorship sessions on fundraising, customer acquisition, monetisation, and engagement in gaming through top experts in this domain.

WinZO has already created a significant impact in India’s gaming industry and, more recently, introduced its application in Brazil, collaborating with over 100 game developers. The company is now setting its sights on establishing a talent hub, with Telangana playing a pivotal role in this endeavor. Telangana is renowned for hosting top-tier colleges, and its robust ecosystem that fosters innovation and includes the presence of global IT and big tech companies, making it the preferred choice for individuals aspiring to pursue careers in deep engineering—a critical component of tech-based Intellectual Property (IP) creation. The region’s latent potential needs to be harnessed, and WinZO, as a pioneer in this ecosystem, wants to be at the forefront of this.

“WinZO is excited to partner with Telangana’s premier institutions in our shared mission to foster gaming talent and drive innovation through collaboration and impactful action-oriented approach. To foster a brighter future for the Nation it’s critical to encourage the best talent of the country towards entrepreneurship. We believe that by harnessing the collective potential of Telangana’s top talent and our $50 million fund, mentorship, and access to a 175 million user base, we can propel India’s gaming sector to new heights. Together, we’re shaping a future where gaming stands as a significant contributor to India’s exports and global prominence,” said Paavan Nanda, co-founder of WinZO.

Nanda continued, “In light of McKinsey Global Institute’s projection that India must create 90 million new non-farm jobs by 2023 to accommodate incoming workers, our efforts are concentrated on mentoring talent to invest in intellectual property and technology and support startups. This approach aims to improve a startup’s survival rate as they attract the best talent to solve problems of National importance. Whether individuals are working on their ideas or in startups, they essentially become entrepreneurs, and fostering startup success can lead to more job opportunities. Our primary focus is on nurturing entrepreneurs, particularly in the gaming and interactive entertainment sector, which has a global potential of $30 billion, offering India a significant opportunity for growth.”

WinZO has earmarked a substantial fund of $50 million to support promising gaming startups across the globe, independent game developers, and technology based innovative product solutions. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for students and faculty from these institutions to access funding for their projects.

WinZO’s collaboration with Telangana’s top institutions reflects its dedication to fostering gaming talent, innovation, and economic growth within the state. As the gaming industry experiences ongoing expansion, WinZO and its collaborators are well-positioned to make substantial contributions, not just in terms of job creation but also in elevating export figures. While pharmaceutical products remain India’s leading exports, primarily driven by Telangana, our vision is to diversify export avenues, with gaming emerging as a prominent contributor, thanks to the combined efforts of our partners and the exceptional talent pool in Telangana.
