Noida, May 2022: Noida International University’s (NIU) School of Law and Legal Affairs in collaboration with DLSA (District Legal Services Authority) recently organized a day-long legal aid camp in order to spread legal awareness among the people of Murshadpur Village, Greater Noida. The students and the faculty members reached out to the villagers through foot rallies, and door-to-door survey and provided legal guidance and suggestions.
They encouraged the people to take legal recourse and benefits of the free legal aid services provided by the Government through authorities and bodies like DLSA, SLSA, and NLSA, truly accentuating and working in furtherance of the motto of “Access to Justice for All”.
The students of BA LLB, BBA LLB and LLB of all the Semesters participated in the Legal Aid Program. The Legal Aid Camp was attained by these students, Legal Aid Faculty Committee Members of SLLA, NIU under the supervision of the Director, School of Law & Legal Affairs, Noida International University, Prof. (Dr) Manu Singh. There were more than 100 participants who had attained the Legal Aid.
The students were divided into groups and sent to different directions so that the whole village could be covered in full and a view of the general Law and order prevailing situation can be taken note of. Each group of students is comprised of representatives from each and every program. The groups of students were headed by one Faculty and went for a house-to-house and door-to-door Survey spreading Legal among the residents and providing them with legal guidance and suggestions.
“The main objective of organising a legal aid camp is to spread awareness on rights, entitlements and legal remedies. In these hard times of COVID, we are proud that NIU’s School of Law and Legal Affairs is helping society by organising Legal Aid Camps in and is offering legal advice to the people facing difficulties. We have provided solutions to four families, who were battling legal issues,” said Prof. (Dr.) Manu Singh, Director, School of Law & Legal Affairs, Noida International University.
